Week 11 (Components Integration)

Continuing the progress in the eleventh week of my FYP journey, I proceeded to integrate two additional sensors with the ESP32 microcontroller in the transmission part of my project. These sensors were the ADXL345, a 3-axis accelerometer, and the raindrops sensor module. The integration process began by carefully connecting and wiring the ADXL345 and raindrops sensor module to the appropriate pins on the ESP32 microcontroller. This ensured proper communication and data exchange between the sensors and the microcontroller. To enable seamless integration, I referred to the datasheets and documentation provided for each sensor. These resources provided detailed information on the pin configurations, communication protocols, and programming requirements. Following the successful physical connection, I utilized the Arduino IDE to write the necessary code for the ESP32 microcontroller to interface with the ADXL345 and raindrops sensor module. This involved configuring the communication p...

Week 10 (Purchasing Components)

During the tenth week of my FYP journey, I focused on gathering the necessary components for the transmission part of my project. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, I began by creating a detailed list of the required components. This involved identifying the specific models that would be most suitable for my project's needs. To make an informed decision, I conducted extensive research on various models available in the market. I carefully compared their features, performance, and compatibility with my project requirements.  After thorough consideration, I selected the most appropriate model and proceeded with the next steps. Once I had finalized my selection, I surveyed different online platforms, including Shopee, to find the best prices for the chosen components. After comparing prices and ensuring their authenticity, I proceeded with the purchase through Shopee.                Within a few days, I received the components th...

Week 9 (Chapter 2-Technical Report Writing)

In the ninth week of my FYP journey, I commenced the process of writing the technical report, focusing specifically on Chapter 2 - Literature Review. This chapter plays a crucial role in establishing the theoretical foundation of my project. It requires a comprehensive review of relevant papers and projects related to my own, such as LoRa-based projects, landslide monitoring projects, and more. To ensure the accuracy and quality of Chapter 2, I submitted a draft to Dr. Aizat, my supervisor, for evaluation and feedback. Upon his initial evaluation, Dr. Aizat provided valuable guidance and suggestions for improvement. One notable recommendation was to conduct an additional review on the sub-topic of 'hazard detection using a camera.' This was particularly relevant to my project, as I am utilizing a camera module to capture real-time visual data of landslides. Dr. Aizat's advice highlighted the importance of thoroughly exploring this specific aspect and incorporating it into t...

Week 8 (Chapter 1-Technical Report Writing)

On the eighth week, technical report writing has commenced on Chapter 1, Introduction. This chapter encompasses various aspects such as project background, problem statement, objectives, significance of the project and many more. It encompasses various additional details and components that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the project. Additionally, a draft of Chapter 1 has been submitted to my supervisor, Dr. Aizat, for review and feedback. The purpose of this submission is to allow Dr. Aizat to assess the chapter and suggest any necessary adjustments. Upon initial evaluation, it has become apparent that certain revisions are required, particularly concerning the background of the project, project objectives and the scope and limitation of the project. These adjustments will help ensure the accuracy and clarity of these sections in the final report.                Dr. Aizat have provided me valuable insights and guidance to...
